Himalayan Salt Lamp, Pyramid Cut with Wooden Base

A salt lamp cut into a pyramid from natural Himalayan rock salt mined at Khewra in Punjab, Pakistan, on a polished wooden base and powered over USB.

Why the shape matters

A pyramid throws light differently from a natural, uncut lamp. The flat faces give a more even, contained glow and a sharper silhouette, so it suits a desk, a console, or a shelf where a rough natural shape would look untidy. The trade-off is that a cut lamp shows chips more readily than a natural one, since the eye has straight edges to compare against.

Looking after it

Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry it. Never rinse it. Use a coaster between the base and any wooden surface.

Good to know

This is decorative lighting. Salt lamps have been tested for air purification and negative ion output and do not produce meaningful amounts of either, so we describe this one by what it actually is: a pyramid cut from rock salt, lit from within.

Salt draws moisture from humid air, so the surface may feel damp in a humid room. Normal for salt, not a fault.
