Himalayan Salt Lamp and Aroma Diffuser, USB Multi-Colour

How bright it actually is

This is one of the few lamps with a measured output rather than a vague description: 60 to 249 lumens, drawing 0 to 5W. For context, a typical bedside reading lamp runs 400 lumens or more. So this is ambient light, not task light. At the low end it works as a night light; at the top of its range it will softly light a corner, and no more than that.

The diffuser side

There is a well for a few drops of essential oil. Keep oil in the well and off the salt itself, since salt dissolves and oil residue is difficult to remove from a porous surface. Wipe spills straight away.

Looking after it

Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry it. Never rinse it. Stand it on a coaster.

Good to know

This is decorative lighting with a diffuser well. Salt lamps have been tested for air purification and negative ion output and do not produce meaningful amounts of either, and a diffuser scents a room rather than cleaning it. Essential oils irritate some people and some pets, so introduce them gradually.

Salt draws moisture from humid air and may feel damp in a humid room. Normal for the material.
