Himalayan Salt Chunk Basket Lamp, Five Metal Styles

A black metal basket filled with raw chunks of Himalayan rock salt, with a light fitting in the base. Switch it on and the light passes up through the salt and out between the wires. The chunks are uncarved pieces of rock salt from Pakistan's Salt Range, so their size, shape and color differ from lamp to lamp.

The five basket styles

• Cylindrical: a straight-sided cylinder of horizontal wire rings.
• Round Bowl: an open wire bowl on a round base, wider at the top.
• Ripple: a cylinder of wavy vertical wires.
• Flowerpot: a wire basket that flares at the rim and stands on small ball feet.
• Forest: a solid black metal cylinder with tree branches cut out of the side, with salt chunks piled in the top.

Power options

Choose a US plug cord, or a USB version with warm white or color-changing light. If you live in the United States, pick US Plug or one of the USB options.

Looking after it

Wipe the salt with a damp, well-wrung cloth, then dry it. Never rinse it. Lift the chunks out now and then to wipe the basket and the base. Stand the lamp on a coaster: salt draws moisture from humid air and can mark wood.

Good to know

This is decorative lighting. Tests of salt lamps have found no meaningful air cleaning and no useful negative-ion output, and we make no health claims for it. In a damp room the salt may feel wet or bead with water. That is normal for salt and does not mean the lamp is faulty.
