Handcrafted Himalayan Salt Lamp, Five Carved Shapes

A salt lamp hand-carved from natural Himalayan rock salt mined at Khewra in Punjab, Pakistan. Available in five shapes and with a choice of mains cord or USB power.

The five shapes

• Cylindrical — the most contained silhouette, suits a narrow shelf or a console
• Round Bowl — an open dish holding loose salt chunks, so the light scatters between the pieces
• Ripple — carved horizontal grooves that catch and break up the light
• Flowerpot — a tapered form that throws more light upward than outward
• Forest — an irregular carved profile, closest in feel to an uncut natural lamp

What handcrafted means here

The rock is mined and rough-cut at scale, then the shaping, hollowing, and finishing are done by hand. That is why no two are identical in colour or grain, and why the weight varies between pieces sold as the same size. It is not a claim that one person made the whole thing start to finish.

Power options

Choose a mains cord in your plug standard, or a USB version in warm or colour-changing light. If you are in the United States, select US Plug or one of the USB options. The EU, UK, and AU cords are the same lamp with a different plug and will need an adapter here.

Looking after it

Wipe with a barely damp cloth, then dry. Never rinse it. Stand it on a coaster rather than bare wood. On the bowl version, lift the chunks out occasionally to wipe the dish underneath.

Good to know

This is decorative lighting. Salt lamps have been tested for air purification and negative ion output and do not produce meaningful amounts of either. What you are buying is a hand-carved piece of 250-million-year-old rock that happens to glow, which we think is enough.

Salt draws moisture from humid air, so in a damp room the surface may feel damp or weep slightly. Normal for salt, not a fault.
